We have successfully rescheduled our field trip to October 27th. This is a fabulous field trip, but due to being outside and unsure of the elements, it could be canceled at any point. I will be sending home a permission slip as well as request for parent volunteers soon.
Thank you all so much for reading with your children last night. I know they were excited to get into the "homework" swing of things. I wrote notes in some of your children's baggy books regarding the connection/retell. If you have any questions about this it will explain it more on the inside cover of the baggy book. The focus will change monthly so please look at that each month for clarification. For 2nd grade baggy books, we are asking that the child fills out everything except for the parent signature. They will write their connection/ retell this month based on the story or chapter from that night. Also please don't forget to fill in and initial and apple for every 15 minutes your child reads. Anything they read will count towards a 15 minute apple. More than 1 apple can be filled in nightly if applicable. :) Hope this helps.
Good Afternoon,
You should all be seeing a packet of work completed this week in your child's green folder tonight. On top of that is a piece of paper that is a "weekly check-in" for you. It will say if all work is completed, as well as behavior for the week. This week we had a lot of "clip-moving" due to talking. We are still working on getting our rules from class figured out so there a bit more color changing this week than we will normally have. Many children went to a color but work hard after that to get back to green, thus no call home or "Lost in the Woods" slip sent home. I hope the check-in notes will help you as to how your child is doing on a weekly basis, both academically and socially. :) Have a great and safe Labor Day weekend. Hello and welcome to the blog. I am going to post happenings from the classroom here on the blog. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I sent out the spelling list last week and must have had some hard working kiddos over the weekend study spelling words. I had 9 kids who got 100% on the pretest so they do not have to take the test on Friday. I sent the pretests home so you could look over them with your child so you know which words may need a little extra attention. I am really enjoying this group of kids and look forward to what the year will bring.
Welcome to our website. This will be a work in progress over throughout the year. I hope to add any items that I send home from my class on the website so you are able to easily access from anywhere.
